Career Background

Dr. Aurélie Jacob has a strong background in computational materials. During her master thesis at Monash University (Australia), she developed molecular dynamic simulation for the evaluation of the structure of molten silicates. This work was continued in TU Bergakademie Freiberg where she also compared the results to neutron scattering experiments. From 2012, she started her PhD thesis in Forschungszentrum Jülich during which she developed a strong knowledge in thermodynamics of metallic systems. Thermodynamic modelling of binary and ternary systems were developed based on her own experimental determination of phase diagrams and DFT calculations.

In the beginning of 2016, Aurélie Jacob joined TU Wien as Post-Doc in the group of Prof. Kozeschnik for the development of thermodynamic databases. From November 2016, she joined MatCalc Engineering team and support our thermodynamic database development section.
